  1. A bog is a type of wetland where 
  2. decomposition is slowed down and dead plant
  3. matter accumulates as peat. Bogs develop 
  4. under conditions of low temperature, high 
  5. acidity, low nutrient supply, stagnant water,
  6. and oxygen deficiency. Large bogs can be 
  7. found in Ireland and Northern Scotland.
